Mairu Sakuragi is mocked as a "poison mushroom" by her classmates and even dismissed at home, until her flamboyant neighbor Fuwari takes her makeup and styling in hand. The made-over Mairu suddenly draws attention at school, including from Tenyuu Kumada, the campus "king" she has fallen for. Newly noticed but still unsure of herself, she chases first love while learning to hold on to who she was under the new look.
