BAD COMPANY

Ryuji Danma, a second-year transferring into a new middle school in Tsujido, meets Eikichi Onizuka on his first morning there: a boy whose pompadour is dyed red with someone else's blood. Their brawls and truces turn into the partnership their neighborhood will know as Oni-Baku, and a second story follows Ryuji as he chases down the CBX motorcycle that becomes his. The two chapters collected here run as a prequel to Shonan Junai Gumi, long before Onizuka ever stood in front of a classroom.
