Haruki Amamiya, an utterly ordinary high schooler, is locked in a storage room as a prank alongside Kirara Isonami, a girl who happened to be inside. The two spend three days trapped before they break out, only to find the world transformed: an unknown virus has begun turning people into flesh-eating undead known as carriers. The story tracks Haruki and a handful of other young survivors from the minutes before the first recorded case onward.
