John Celias is a rank-and-file soldier, no hero, who lives long enough to see the Demon King fall at the end of the war against the demon armies and is cut down by the remnants minutes after the victory. He wakes in his childhood body in his home village, decades before any of it, every memory of the war and everything it taught him intact. This time he means to build his strength early and steer the coming years away from the disaster he already lived through.
