A group of high school students led by Kei Kurona die in a bus crash on the way to a school trip and wake inside an abandoned school. A black sphere called Gantz waits there with two veteran players, Fujimoto and Abiko, who lay out the rules: they have been revived to hunt alien targets in armored suits, a hundred points buys freedom, and a death here is final. The newcomers are sent straight out on their first mission. This spin-off retells the Gantz premise with a new cast.
