Ayumi Arihara, a second-year middle schooler, gets a note from Misao Zaitsu, a large and intimidating high schooler who wants to date her, and has no idea what to do about it. Hers is one of eight girls' stories, told as interlocking vignettes about first love across a middle school and a high school, each chapter centering on a different one of them. Kei Enomoto, who draws constant confessions and dismisses most of them, keeps clashing with the crude, pun-happy Etsu Kusuda, and the separate threads gradually braid into one connected story.
