The hero who killed the Demon King is dead, and the trail of children he left behind turns out to be about as long as his list of victories. Gil, a half-elf who carries the hero's blood and never once met him, hears about an inheritance and turns up at the funeral in high spirits. What he walks into is a loud and frequently bloody brawl among the hero's children over the estate and over a father's attention none of them ever got.
