Wolka, an adventurer reincarnated from Japan, takes a monster's attack meant for his party deep in a dungeon and is torn apart for it. On the edge of death he recognises where he is: a dark-fantasy manga he read in his old life, in which he is a background character written to die here alongside everyone else. He refuses that ending and fights his way clear of it. The companions he saved now cling to him with a devotion that is not quite healthy. This manga adapts the light novel.
