Being born 'starless' means Ivy can't use her Tamer gift on anything bigger than the smallest animals, and in a world that worships strength, that's a life sentence. She flees into the forest and befriends Sora, a slime weak enough for her to actually tame, and the two start scraping by on other people's leftovers and trash.
