新世紀エヴァンゲリオン

Shinji Ikari, a withdrawn fourteen-year-old, is summoned to the fortress city of Tokyo-3 by his estranged father Gendo, commander of the paramilitary organization NERV. There, Shinji is ordered to pilot Evangelion Unit-01, a massive biomechanical weapon, against the Angels, beings of unknown origin attacking the city. Alongside fellow pilots Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu, he fights under the supervision of tactical officer Misato Katsuragi while struggling with a father who sees him only as a tool.
