The scientifically advanced Empire and the witch-ruled Nebulis Sovereignty have warred for generations, and each side's strongest fighter is exactly who the other side sends to end it: imperial swordsman Iska and ice witch princess Aliceliese. Their duel on the battlefield goes differently than either expects, with Iska seeing past her title to who she actually is and Aliceliese noticing the same in him, and an attraction neither can name starts pulling against the war that's supposed to keep them enemies.
