Kenzaburou Tondabayashi, a mild-mannered 52-year-old Japanese civil servant, dies in a traffic accident and wakes up as Grace Auvergne, the villainess of the otome game his daughter used to play. Grace is supposed to be cruel to the heroine, Anna Doll, but Kenzaburou's decades of office manners and quiet decency take over instead, and Grace ends up one of the most well-liked people at school. He navigates the fantasy court the only way he knows how: like a Japanese salaryman.
