Synopsis
Simon, a timid digger in an underground village, unearths a small mecha he names Lagann and uses it to break through to the surface alongside his fearless 'big brother' Kamina and the rifle-wielding Yoko Littner. Above ground, they discover humanity has been driven underground by the Spiral King Lordgenome and his army of Beastmen piloting giant Gunmen. Kamina captures an enemy Gunmen and combines it with Lagann to form Gurren Lagann, rallying a growing band of surface fighters against Lordgenome's forces.
