Two volumes trace Itachi Uchiha's life from age four through thirteen, following what he witnessed of war and the path that led him toward the Akatsuki, with new material on people close to him like Shisui and his father, Fugaku. A third volume shifts focus to Sasuke Uchiha, following him after Itachi's story ends. The Itachi volumes are published in English as Naruto: Itachi's Story, and the series expands on choices the original manga left mostly in the background.
