Shigeo 'Mob' Kageyama keeps exorcising spirits part-time for self-proclaimed psychic Reigen Arataka at the Spirits and Such Consultation Office while training with his school's Body Improvement Club. This second season sends Mob up against more dangerous espers, strains his working relationship with Reigen, and brings the esper organization Claw back under its leader Toichiro Suzuki with a plan far larger than its earlier operations.
