Synopsis
In an alternate-history Edo-period Japan called the Grand Jipangu, Luffy works as a small-town police chief alongside crime-fighting partner Usopp, while Nami and Sanji run a restaurant, Zoro serves as a monk, and Chopper works as the town doctor. Two cases fill the special: first Buggy the Clown stirs up trouble for Luffy's town, then a mysterious girl named Vivi arrives with a problem of her own that pulls the whole cast back together. It aired as a New Year's special, and its plot carries directly into the following episodes rather than standing alone.
