Ryuma, a wandering samurai set on becoming the world's greatest swordsman, arrives in a village terrorized by a dragon that has been threatening a young woman named Flare. Alongside the mercenary Cyrano, he takes on a fight he never went looking for. This ONA adapts Eiichiro Oda's 1994 one-shot manga Monsters, drawn years before One Piece, and includes a Roronoa Zoro cameo that ties it to Ryuma's later appearance in the Thriller Bark arc.
