Synopsis
This novelization retells Kyoto Animation's 2016 film version of the same story: Shoya Ishida, who bullied deaf transfer student Shoko Nishimiya throughout elementary school before his classmates turned on him instead. Isolated through middle and high school and carrying his guilt, Shoya seeks Shoko out again to apologize and see whether they can start over as friends. Written from the film's screenplay, this book follows the movie's condensed continuity rather than the original manga's, which has its own separate novelization.
