Gintoki Sakata befriends Seita, a Yoshiwara pickpocket trying to buy the freedom of Hinowa, the district's top courtesan and the woman he believes may be his real mother. Yoshiwara turns out to be a hidden pleasure district beneath Edo, sealed under eternal night by the Yato tribesman Housen, who keeps its women trapped to shield himself from sunlight. This 2026 film remakes the Yoshiwara in Flames arc from the original TV series with new animation.
