Kinushima Michiru joins SAI Corp's Terminal Service team, whose job is retrieving Giftias, androids built with a fixed nine-year lifespan, once their time runs out. Paired with her own Giftia partner Zack, Michiru learns the retrieval work up close, case by case, in the years before the Plastic Memories anime opens. This manga is a prequel to that series, told from Michiru's side of the same world.
