Synopsis
Edward Elric, a teenage State Alchemist known as the Fullmetal Alchemist, travels Amestris with his younger brother Alphonse — a soul bound to a suit of armor — in search of the Philosopher's Stone. The brothers lost their bodies attempting the taboo of human transmutation to resurrect their mother, and now chase any lead that might restore what they sacrificed. Backed by Colonel Roy Mustang and shadowed by artificial humans called Homunculi, their search pulls them deeper into Amestris's military state. This 2003 adaptation takes an original narrative path distinct from the later Brotherhood series.
