The Shinden novels are four standalone stories set in the years after the Fourth Great Ninja War, when Konoha's veteran shinobi have families of their own and the next generation is already on missions. Konoha Shinden sends Mirai Sarutobi to guard the retired Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy on a hot-spring trip; Naruto Shinden has the Hokage trying to give his own children a day of his time; Sasuke Shinden puts Sasuke in charge of Boruto's team; and Shikamaru Shinden has Shikamaru defusing a rift at a Kage summit while his household frays.
