Synopsis
Twelve-year-old Naota Nandaba is trying to act older than he is in the sleepy factory town of Mabase when a woman on a Vespa runs him over, hits him with a bass guitar, and introduces herself as Haruko. From that point on, a horn keeps growing out of his head, and stranger things keep crawling out of it as Haruko drags him into a war between alien factions hiding behind ordinary town life. This novelization retells the original FLCL anime's story in prose.
