Masamune Izumi writes light novels for a living, and the illustrator behind his books goes only by the pen name Eromanga-sensei, someone he has never actually met. That illustrator turns out to be Sagiri, his own stepsister, who shut herself in her room after their parents died and hasn't spoken to him since. This light novel follows the two of them rebuilding a relationship through the one thing they still share: making a book together.
