Synopsis
Riko and Reg press on from where Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun left them, still working through what the Golden City's ruins cost them on the way down through the Abyss. Their companion Nanachi and Ozen's former apprentice Marulk carry forward as well, all of them still bound by the Abyss's one-way rule: nothing that descends past the Fourth Layer can ever return to the surface. Riko keeps chasing the truth about her mother Lyza, the legendary White Whistle who vanished into the depths years before her.
