A nameless third-year college student, known only as Watashi, has spent two years chasing an idealized campus life and come up empty every time. Convinced that everything went wrong because of the club he picked, whether the tennis circle, the film circle or another, he starts fantasizing about the parallel version of himself who joined a different one. His only real companion through each failed attempt is Ozu, a friend he describes as a kind of 'demon,' whose schemes keep dragging Watashi into new misfortune.
