Seventeen-year-old Suzume Iwato opens a lone door standing in mountain ruins and unknowingly helps loose the force behind Japan's earthquakes. Souta Munakata, the young man who had been hunting that door in order to shut it, is turned into a child's chair by a talking cat called Daijin, and the two travel the length of the country to close every door the creature can slip through. Chasing after Suzume is her aunt Tamaki, who raised her after her mother died. This manga adapts the 2022 animated film.
