Synopsis
Tamako Kitashirakawa spends her days at Tama-ya, her family's mochi shop in a Kyoto shopping district, alongside best friends Kanna Makino and Midori Tokiwa, whose families run neighboring stores. Her routine gets stranger when Dera Mochimazzi, a talking bird from a tropical island, turns up looking for a bride for his prince, and more complicated as feelings surface: Tamako's growing awareness of Mochizou Ooji from the rival mochi shop, and Midori's own unspoken feelings for Tamako. This light novel retells the original anime's slice-of-life story of the shopping district's teenagers.
