Adroc Thurston, Renton's father, tries to head off a coming catastrophe in the never-before-shown "Summer of Love," set years before the main story. The film then jumps to Renton himself, now living with his adoptive parents Charles and Ray Beams after leaving the Gekkostate, and unpacks the falling-out that drove him away from the crew and from Eureka, who appears here in critical condition. The first of three films, it recombines new footage with reworked scenes from the original series.
