Synopsis
Fifth-grader Hotaru Ichijou moves from Tokyo to the remote village of Asahigaoka, where the nearest shop is a bus ride away and the entire school fits five students in one room. She's paired with Renge Miyauchi, a blunt first-grader with an odd habit of greeting everyone with "nyanpasu," and taken under the wing of the Koshigaya sisters, timid Komari and restless Natsumi. Hotaru trades city convenience for candy runs through a mountain tunnel and slow afternoons with her new classmates.
