Synopsis
In Tokyo's Shibuya, a lonely nine-year-old runs from relatives he can't stand and wanders into Shibutenmachi, a hidden city ruled by beasts. There, the brawling loner Kumatetsu takes him in half out of pride and half by accident, naming him Kyuuta and grudgingly teaching him to fight as Kumatetsu chases a claim to the beast lord's throne. Kyuuta grows up between worlds, drawn back toward Tokyo and a girl named Kaede even as his bond with his gruff teacher deepens. This light novel retells the story of the 2015 anime film The Boy and the Beast.
