In the summer of 1999, Taichi Yagami and six other children, among them Yamato Ishida and Sora Takenouchi, are pulled out of summer camp into the Digital World, where each meets a partner Digimon and learns they have been chosen to stand against the creatures tearing that world apart. This three-volume novel retells Digimon Adventure as a parallel version of the story rather than a straight transcription: the broad shape of the TV series survives, but most of it is rearranged and several details of the setting are changed outright.
