This reboot resets Digimon Adventure in the present day: fifth-grader Taichi Yagami is pulled into a hidden digital network and partnered with Agumon after virus-like Digimon start attacking Tokyo's electronic infrastructure. Joined by Yamato Ishida, Hikari Yagami, Takeru Takaishi, Mimi Tachikawa, and Koushirou Izumi, each paired with their own Digimon partner, Taichi has to figure out how to fight back before the incidents in the Digital World spill further into the real one. It retells the group's original story as a stand-alone continuity rather than a sequel to the 1999 series.
