Raku Ichijou, heir to a yakuza clan, wants nothing to do with the family business and treasures a locked pendant from a childhood promise with a girl whose face he can't remember. When rival gang the Beehive moves into the area, the two organizations force Raku and Chitoge Kirisaki — the Beehive boss's daughter — into a fake relationship to keep the peace. Raku and Chitoge can barely stand each other, but as they keep up appearances at school, the question of who holds the pendant's key keeps surfacing.
