Before he became Conan Edogawa, fourteen-year-old Shinichi Kudo takes on a case alone: a man asks him to clear his name in his grandmother's murder, and the only lead is a woman seen walking a large black Labrador. While the inquiry stalls against a dead end, a clash with Ran Mouri over her superstitious hunches leaves the two of them not speaking for a week. This Magic File OVA is a flashback prequel to the film Detective Conan: Full Score of Fear, and the song 'Amazing Grace' runs through both.
