Phantom thief Kaito Kid sets his sights on a jewel called Artemis's Tears, hidden inside a hotel on an isolated island, and Conan Edogawa leads the Detective Boys in trying to stop the heist before it happens. After the theft, the Detective Boys mistake a disguised Kid for Shinichi Kudo and rope him into their own manhunt, putting the thief in the strange position of helping chase himself. Inspector Ginzo Nakamori arrives to back up the search as the island leaves everyone boxed in together.
