Synopsis
Minae is the only girl on a children's baseball team called the Guts, and her nerves keep getting the better of her at the plate. Professor Agasa and the team's coach bury a bat in the field and put out word that it once belonged to a legendary slugger, hoping that pulling it free will give her the confidence she needs. The scheme unravels when Kogoro Mouri, two police detectives, and the Detective Boys all turn up wanting the bat for reasons of their own, leaving Conan Edogawa to keep the ruse standing. Adapted from "Excalibur," a short story in Gosho Aoyama's collection of short stories.
