A veteran online gamer falls asleep at his keyboard and wakes up inside his own favorite MMO character, a skeletal knight now named Arc, endgame gear and bare skull included. Determined to hide his monstrous appearance and avoid causing panic, he keeps his helmet sealed as he explores this new world. That plan collapses when he rescues the dark elf warrior Ariane Glenys Maple from human slavers and is pulled into her fight against the trafficking of her people.
