A pregnant woman named Shino takes refuge at a remote inn, fleeing assassins sent by her lover's family to stop her child from being born. Innkeeper Hisayo and handyman Tokuji welcome her in, but the inn holds a darker history, and wandering exorcist Kusuriuri arrives sensing that the zashiki-warashi haunting its halls are far from the harmless household spirits of folklore.
