Synopsis
Brothers Kanba and Shouma dote on their sickly younger sister Himari, whose fragile health finally fails during a visit to the aquarium she loves. She dies, and then returns wearing a bright red penguin-shaped hat, possessed by a spirit that refuses to let her go so easily. In exchange for her continued life, the spirit sends the brothers chasing a mysterious artifact called the Penguindrum, aided and hindered by three unruly penguin companions. This novelization ran alongside the original TV anime.
