Synopsis
An ex-convict is released from prison and immediately seeks out Yakumo, a rakugo master known for his rendition of the ghost story 'Shinigami,' begging to be taken on as a student. Yakumo, who has turned down every apprentice before him, relents and gives the man the nickname Yotarou. Settling into Yakumo's household, Yotarou meets Konatsu, ward of the house and daughter of a late, celebrated performer, who wants to master rakugo herself despite the barriers facing women in the art. Bundled with the manga's seventh and eighth volumes, this OVA sets up the story before the 2016 TV adaptation.
