Synopsis
Centuries before Yukito ever arrives in the seaside town central to Air, the winged priestess Kannabi no Mikoto, called Kanna, is confined to her temple, cursed to die and be reborn each time she grows close to someone. Guarded by the soldier Ryuuya and aided by her servant Uraha, Kanna slips out of the temple grounds one summer night, the three of them fleeing together rather than let her be sealed away for good. This two-part special tells the feudal-era backstory behind Air's main story.
