Hodaka Morishima, a high school freshman, runs away from his island home to Tokyo during an endless stretch of rain. He finds work at a small occult magazine and meets Hina Amano, an orphaned girl who can pray to clear the sky — a power that earns her the nickname "sunshine girl." As Hodaka and Hina turn her ability into a back-alley business clearing weather for clients, the city's relentless downpour begins to demand a cost neither expected.
