When his fifteen-year-old MMO finally shuts its servers down, developer Akira Ono wakes up inside the game world instead, inhabiting his own character, the demon lord Hakuto Kunai. He takes in Aku, an orphaned girl with heterochromatic eyes, as his first companion, and starts turning the ruins around him into a working settlement, adding hot springs and a hospital while the Kingdom of Holy Light eyes him as an enemy. Kunai's administrator instincts, not combat skill, drive how he survives here.
