Inside the bloodstream of a man worn down by drinking, smoking, and chronic stress, red blood cell AA2153 struggles just to deliver oxygen through clogged, damaged vessels. White blood cell U-1196 fights off constant infection alongside fellow neutrophil J-1178, in a body that runs less like the tidy workplace of the original Cells at Work! and more like an understaffed company pushed past its limits. This spin-off manga by Shigemitsu Harada and Issei Hatsuyoshiya keeps the same cast of anthropomorphized cells but sets them against a body actively breaking down.
