Cinque Izumi is an ordinary Japanese middle-schooler until Princess Millhiore of the Biscotti Republic summons him to Flonyard, a world of animal-eared people fighting a war unlike any on Earth: one waged like a sports tournament, with rules against real casualties. Handed the sacred weapon Palladion and named a Hero, Cinque is thrown straight into Biscotti's conflict with the feline Galette Lion Dominion. This light novel ran alongside the anime, retelling the same opening stretch of the story.
