Mimiru talks Bear into joining her for a one-time event in the newly reopened Dungeon of Nankoflank, a stage of the online game "The World" that had been sealed off for two years. She isn't there for treasure. She's chasing a memory from her first character: two years earlier, a player named Mimika crystallized herself with a rare skill to save Mimiru's friend from a monster, and paid for it with her data. As Mimiru and Bear retrace those steps together, she finally reaches the statue where Mimika's sacrifice is memorialized.
