Haruka Nanase finally reaches Sydney to chase his competitive swimming ambitions on the world stage, arriving alongside friends and rivals from the All-Japan Invitational. He's crushed almost immediately by Albert Volandel, the reigning world champion known as the "Odin of the Swim World," and the loss leaves Haruka questioning what swimming means to him in the first place. Structured as the first half of a two-part finale, the film follows the competitors gathering in Sydney as each works out their own reasons for chasing the same title.
