On a research island reachable only by boat, programmer Shiki Magata has spent fifteen years alone behind a sealed laboratory door, the price of being acquitted, as a teenager, of murdering her parents. Architecture professor Souhei Saikawa and his student Moe Nishinosono arrive to see the facility firsthand, and within a day a body is found in a room locked from the inside. This second manga adaptation retells the same 1996 novel with different artwork from the earlier 2002 version.
