Souhei Saikawa, an associate professor of architecture at N University, and his student Moe Nishinosono travel to a research institute on the private island of Himaka to meet Shiki Magata, a genius engineer who killed her parents at fourteen and has not left her sealed laboratory in the fifteen years since. What comes out of the locked room instead is a body in a wedding dress with its limbs cut off, and the message left on the institute's computers reads 'Everything becomes F.' This mystery series opens with that case, The Perfect Insider.
